At the shimmering break of dawn a battle was fought in a land far north...Sons of War is the brand new video from Månegarm, taken from our new album Legions of the North.
The video was shot in the surroundings of the small town Gärdsjö in Sweden by Fredrik Agne' (Fragutopia production) and as you can see we also got some great help from the Viking reenactment group Gärdsjöriddarna (knights of Gärdsjö).
Among lots of cool stuff, they had built their own Viking house in the exact same way that our ancestors built em'; with logs, peat and wooden bolts and bricks!

Kweizar`s Interview – Death Metal Band from Costa Rica
Kweizar is a Costa Rican band that was born in mid 2009, founded by Harold Avedaño, Wilson Montero, David Salas and Cesar Salas. They had an idea of creating a Power-Melodic-Death Metal.
In early 2010 Christopher G. De Haan collaborates as a vocalist with the band on what would be the first recording with the theme Life`s Price.
After several months in search of a stable vocalist for the band, Kweizar get Joshua Alpizar, and with him is presented in the battle of the bands CONTRA CULTURA. They get 2nd place and then Joshua left the band due to personal reasons.
Finally joins Christopher De Haan vocalist to complete the lineup of the band, after some local performances, the band decided to continue the recording process of a future demo...

MVB: First of all Cesar and David Salas are relatives?
Yes, Cesar and David are brothers.
MVB: What is Kweizer meaning?
Actually it is Kweizar and is a phonetic transcription to the word “quasar” which is an astronomical object that has a black hole in its center, it is so explosive that this black hole isn't able to attract all it mass so repels some of them creating a very impressive figure.
MVB: Why you choose that name?
So in Kweizar we like that idea and since our music is very explosive we saw well similar.
MVB: How the idea of Kweizar started?
It was growing while we were practicing covers just for fun, we thought we were able to compose songs and become more serious as a band.
MVB: How do you consider the evolution of the band since "Everything Shall End" (2011) until nowadays?
Very good, we are sure that the progress can be seen through the songs, in the composing part as in the quality of the recordings.
MVB: In “Everything Shall End” we noticed a strong influence of guttural voices such as Carcass, Children of Bodom and Deicide. Talk about your voice influences in the search of your own style.
Since Christopher de Haan has been the vocalist in almost all the recorded songs he has his own influences such as Job for Cowboy however we have been emphatic in the use low growls and high growls changes.
MVB: Let`s still with the “Everything Shall End”. We consider it has a powerful influence of Power Metal. What do you think about it?
Yes they have a marked influence of power metal; the most representative could be “The End of the World”.
MVB: Tell us about your experience in Contra Cultura contest?
It was really funny because it was our first contest and our second presentation in public, so we have a big expectation, the contest had only one winner, but at the end they decided to mention the three first places and we got the second place. That meant a lot for us.
MVB: Why Josué Alpizar left Kweizar after Contra Cultura contest?
He was not able to be part of Kweizar any longer so he decided to leave the band. It was a matter of time.
MVB: Christopher De Haan belonged Kweizar`s history. Why he left and what was his most important legacy?
We are completely sure about his legacy was the strongest and potential he throw every time in the stage and he left the band because he entered in Corpse Garden and they demanded exclusivity.
MVB: Talk about your experience in Megapositivas 2011 Metal battle band contest?
It was a great experience since it was a contest in which we will be more exposed. There were more than 30 bands and was not only Metal so it was going to be hard. In that contest we got the sixth place but we were very satisfied because the jury gave us a very good grade.
MVB: We noticed in the new four rehearsal tracks released (2013-early 2014) that Kweizar is leaving the
Power Metal influence and now sounds more Death Metal. Are you agreeing with that or Kweizar is looking for a new identity?
It is true that these new songs have less power metal influence but it doesn't mean we are leaving it. There could be new songs with more power metal or other genres we are open minded and we do not close any door.
MVB: Which was the first Costa Rica metal band you heard?
Mandragora.
MVB: Personally what do you think about the tico metal scene and other metal bands?
We see more professional releases and more professional gigs, so the scene is growing in quality and quantity. Even though there are some bad factor, like for example the support of people, I think the scene is getting improved.
MVB: Future plans?
We are looking forward to release a full length album with all the songs and three more (we have to compose) in a professional way.
